christmas bonzai tree

I found this through annother blog I follow, without knowing the creator and I find it really off the record and spectacular. It's very smart if you have a bonzai tree at home to decorate it like this one. I don't have, but maybe I'll get one for next Christmas! If the world has not ended yet of course!! Because I don't know if you've heard that we only have exactly one year of life..But no negative thoughts! It's Christmas time!
Merry Christmas everyone!

cookies

I love making cookies. Especially for sharing them with friends and family. And especially when you have children as your "little helpers". This Saturday I found a very nice recipe by Alexia Alexiadou and I made with my sister butter cookies in many different shapes and colors. Fantastic. It's the perfect thing to do in the holidays if you like cooking! And you get into the spirit of xmas:)

JOE STRUMMER FENDER TELE

If I ever, ever, ever played the guitar, then I would buy definitely this one! Joe Strummer's Fender Tele. I first noticed it a year ago, when a customer of ours was interested and since then it has become my #1 favourite guitar. You will tell me it seems old, but that's exactly what I like on it. It seems that it has history when the truth is that it doesn't! It seems so much used and it's extremely rusty..I like it! I'm not sure though, if I would stick on all those stickers that comes with, but I guess that's not a problem right now..

GUCCI 3518 EYEGLASSES BLACK

ohhhhhh! I love these! I'm to buy some new eyeglasses and I love this style..I went yesterday to an optician and tried a couple pairs of eyeglasses in the same style, but now I saw this pair I fell in love..I don't know if they would be better in white/brown or black on me. But black is always a classic. definitely.

Horrible Bosses

100% pure comedy. After the Hangover 1, I had such a long time to watch a very good comedy and this is it! Jennifer Aniston as you have never seen her before and Kevin Spacey is marvellous as always!
So, who doesn't have a boss who sometimes want to punch for his bad behaviour? well, these guys went a step ahead! They want to kill their horrible bosses and they have all the right in the world for doing so. But will they succeed? I leave it up to you..

The phantom of the opera

What a wonderful story! and such wonderful music. I've seen the film 2 or 3 times until now and once in the theatre in London's Apollo theater. Great show! Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genious and he could be instead the "Angel of Music". He has written all this unbelievable melodies. Very touching musical. And of course Gerard Butler in the film version is the most charming ghost ever existed!

Come to me Angel of Music....

passiflora or passion flower

Passiflora or for some others passion flower is a very strange flower which looks like a clock. I saw it last summer for the first time in a nursery and I found it really extra-ordinary. The plant is beautiful and I bought one for my house, but I didn't know it shouldn't be exposed directly to the sun light so..now there is not in my graden anymore. But I can always buy a new one..

belle and sebastian - i want the world to stop

I can't really say I'm a big fan of Belle and Sebastian but I love this song. Sometimes if I got the chance I hear it over and over and over again. I'm crazy with it. I wish I could make the world to stop but not in 2011. I would prefer to stop it in a moment that humanity wouldn't be so dependent for money and people would be closer to each other. But these are just fantasies..By the way, now I'm writing this I have heard it 3 times already..

Stage Walkers by Stamatis Fasoulis

The Stage Walkers is a great theater play by Stamatis Fasoulis from the Greek National Theatre which I saw in ancient Romaic Theatre in my hometown this summer. I believe it worthed every single penny. It was hilarious and many good comedians played various roles. This play gave too much colour and the costumes were magnificent. I liked very much Mrs. Sofia Filippidou who is born to be a comedian! I was very sad though because it was the only play I watched this summer with very little audience and believe me I saw many plays in the last three months. This was far the best!

Hamlet (with Aimilios Hilakis)

Last week I went to the theatre, specifically the ancient theather that is in our town for centuries now, to watch Shaekspeare's "Hamlet". Aimilios Ηilakis was "Hamlet" and he played the role really good. I liked the direction in particular and the stage design. The dialogues were extremely interesting and it was not easy at all to learn all these beautiful words by heart. Many beautiful words together to make great meanings! The only thing with this theatre is that after the show, your feet have been stable for at least 2 hours because you cannot move..yeah! Anyways, thumbs up!

P.S. I luuuuuuuv the poster!

norwegian fjords

Someday, I received an email subjected as "Norway". When I opened it, I saw such beautiful pictures from the Norwegian countryside and the fjords and I said to myself (and my husband) that we must definitely get there. And we decided to take this trip this summer. I really can't wait!! I believe that the beauty of the Norwegian fjords is magical. Our best man told us that in Norway there are some small villages that you feel like you are in a fairytale. And I want to live this fairytale for.. let's just say 10 days...:)

misfits (tv series 2009)

I have only seen all the 1st circle's episodes and I'm looking forward for the 2nd one. In the beginning, I was wondering why am I watching this? But after the first episode, I loved it. My favourite character is Nathan. He may not have any special powers as all the others (until now), but his attitude is so very special! Imagine that I don't watch any kind of tv series ever. I have only watched Prison Break and nothing more. So, from someone who isn't so into tv series, it's highly recommended.

hit girl

Last night I wached "Kick Ass". Well, it's definitelly not a masterpiece, but I loooooved "Hit girl". Now I know what costume I will wear next year at the carnival party. She was so tiny and amazing with all these special movements. I must say it was a very clever idea the whole scenario, but sorry kick ass, hit girl is better than you!

lisbeth salander

My all time favourite novel character. I love her style, her attitude and her way of revenge giving. She is very tiny and very clever and sometimes her appearance can let you make wrong conclusions. I've read all the trillogy and I wish I could find more to read. I wish there was a true Lisbeth to give some justice to our so fake world. Thanks Stieg Larsson!

electra bikes

When I first discovered electra bikes was through a magazine's pages and it was love at first sight! I haven't bought one yet and I'm in the mood of getting a bike..soo, who knows? Maybe it's an electra;) My favourite is the red one from Amsterdam series in Alexander Girard's design. What really annoys me is that it has got only 3 sp! couldn't it have got more?

Tucker & Dale Vs Evil (2010)

I had SUCH a long time to see a good comedy, specifically horror comedy and laugh out so loud. At last! Tucker & Dale are two friends that go on vacation to their "new" countryhouse. They meet by accident with some college kids who think they are serial killers. What happens next is amazing..

Banksy

We may not know who Banksy is, but we sure know his art. I'd wish I had 1/1000 of his talent. I'm a huge fan, although I wasn't very lucky to see a "live" art piece by him. Yesterday I saw the documentary he made with Mr. Brainwash and I really liked it. The above is a rare stencil found in Corfu island/Greece. I find him clever enough for what he does and how he does it and I really don't care to see who he really is. What counts is that he is a clever artist.... .so, ENJOY.

confessions (2010)

I saw "confessions" last week and I found it an amazing film. It has to do with a school and a teacher whose daughter was killed by two students and how she took her revenge.. and what a revenge!! Great scenario, great atmosphere and great director. In six words.

south of the border, west of the sun (νότια των συνόρων, δυτικά του ήλιου)

"South of the border, west of the sun" is a great novel from the great writer Haruki Murakami. I read it some months ago, I think last Christmas, and all I can say about it is that his writing amazed me. One of the best books I've ever read. Not so much for its plot, but of its dreamy word flow. I proposed it to my friend Georgianna and she absolutely loved it.

red hot chili peppers

"sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner
sometimes I feel like my only friend is the city I live in, the city of angels lonely as I am together we cry".
wow what a song! RHCP are my favourite band of all times. I love their music. So many great songs.."can't stop", "by the way", "otherside", "snow" to name but a few. I hope this year they will get a new album out and I'd wish they would come one day to Greece, otherwise I'm going to travel wherever they will have a concert. I even thought Rock in Rio as they are headliners one of the days in September 2011. Rio is a bit far from here though.. so, I just hope they will just come for concerts in Europe.

ion with almonds (ιον αμυγδάλου)

http://www.amigdalou.gr/
Ion amigdalou is my favourite chocolate of all times. I have tasted a lot of different kinds of chocolate bars, but like this one none. It's a chocolate bar of milk chocolate with almonds in it. I just had one and it feels great!

47ouzotherapy

I really loved last Friday we went with my husband at our friend's Fragoulis tavern, which is called "47-ouzotherapy". It is like going back in time or let's say like you are eating in an antique shop. The walls are covered with old things or paintings, most of them are by his father, in combination with some up to date products, such as disco balls and strobo lights. Yes, strobo lights! His father plays the guitar and sings sometimes and of course he is giving the chance to whoever wants to be a singer, by giving him the mic. Unfortunatelly, I don't have any pictures of this but I always enjoy going there.

Greek coffee

You can start your day with a "kalimera" and a hot cup of Greek coffee. I prefer it double and "vari gliko". When I feel sleepy at work, I always go to the kitchen and make myself one cup. Feels great! The truth is that some people know it as Turkish coffee, but anyways Turkish or Greek, for me it's the same delicious treat and I thank the person who invented it from the bottom of my heart:)

Amadeus (1984)

The incredible story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, told in flashback mode by Antonio Salieri. I saw this movie in 2011 and has been out there since 1984! I should be ashamed, because it's 100% masterpiece! Damn.

The third wedding wreath

The last book I've read is "the third wedding wreath" by Costas Tachtsis. I believe it's one of the best books in my library.

Greece of the middle-war period passes in front of your eyes through the lives of Nina & Ekavi.

Their struggle for survival and for a better tommorow, infused with tenderness, humour and toughness, reflects the reality of that era with its contradictions, its difficult fate, its charm and its beauty.

I loved the sharp, juicy, original writting. A must read.

girls in the windows

I found this photo by accident today. I think I love it. It's "girls in the windows" by Ormond Gigli. I believe he should be very proud of this great job!
